Illuminations Festival – 18 June 2016
The rain held out and a very small group of the Belles joined the Illuminations Festival parade last night. Thank you to Sarah, Angela, Mandi, Kylie and Kylie’s family for participating.
We even made it into the Wynnum Herald.
2016 ANZAC March
Some of the Belles participated in the Wynnum ANZAC March. It was honour to be a part of the community in this way and show our respect by laying our wreath among many others.
Thank you Mandi, Sarah’s Mum Sheila, Sarah, Kylie, Kate and her husband and two children, Mandi’s daughter-in-law and Lizz for participating. We hope to see many more Belles next year.
Bunnings Cake and Craft Fundraiser – November 2015
Another great day of fundraising for the Belles. Our Craft Group and talented bakers all came together again to help raise money out the front of Canon Hill Bunnings store. Well done ladies.
Wynnum State Fair – 29 August 2015
After a rocky start with predicted thunderstorms, we were very thankful that the Gods shone down with sunshine right up until the end of the day. We had a huge success with all our baked goods, thanks to the many Belles who stepped up and baked up a storm. Special thanks to Kylie, Jacqui, Lizz, Sarah, Sue, Caroline and Tracey for helping out to sell all of our goods.
We had Peter Cummings, Joan Pease and Deidre Thomson all come and show their support.
I think the School would be very happy with such a successful event.
Masters Sausage Sizzle – 7 June 2015
It was all hands on deck last weekend with our Belles getting behind the barbie and cooking up a storm. Angela and Jacqui organised a great day and we raised over $500. A huge thank you to all the ladies who took the time out on their long weekend to come down and assist.
Gumdale Museum Markets – 31 May 2015
Beth and Cazz did the Bay Belles proud with organising and running a great stall last weekend. It all went very well with over $300 raised. Well done ladies.
Good work from Bay Belles – 22 May 2015
Our crafty Belles made some children at the Good Start Early Learning centres very happy. They got behind their trusty sewing machine and whipped up loads of gorgeous handmade dolls clothes, cot blankets and much more. What an amazing job. Thanks ladies.
Saturday, 14 March 2015
Our first ever cake stall was held last Saturday, 14 March. We set up at 9am in the car park of Bunnings Manly West and packed up at 2pm. It was a huge success and a massive learning curve. Some of our ladies baked until their legs ached, others helped by setting up and packing down, and we had lots of volunteers who came to help sell all of our goodies. We were very happy with what we raised and hope to hold many more to come.
February 2015
As a newly formed QCWA we are pulling together an exciting program of community work to participate in throughout 2015. Watch this space for news and updates on our events and fundraising activities.
Our first community event for 2015 made it into the Wynnum Herald! Some of our members answered the call to sew some koala mittens and joey pouches for animals affected in the recent bush fires in South Australia. Great job girls!
